I knew I wanted to Get clear wireless internetafter I had such a hard time getting ahold of my friends in Japan over the phone after the tsunami this weekend. I've come to find out that all power and phone systems in their area had been knocked out, but they did actually still have Internet access thanks to the Red Crosstrucks that have wireless in their town. This didn't help me, though, since I didn't have home Internet, and this was exactly the push I needed to finally spend the extra money. Once I was hooked up, I was able to e-mail and communicate with them over the weekend and I now feel much better about generally just being connected to the world. I can't believe I've waited this long to get home Internet, but not having it is sort of just knowing longer an option in the age of digital communication. I'm trying to rally my friends here in the US to possibly get a volunteer trip together to Japan very soon.
